Frequently asked questions

How do I use a CS2 crosshair code?

Open CS2, go to Settings → Game → Crosshair, click Share or Import, paste the code and press Import. You can also type apply_crosshair_code CSGO-xxxxx-... in the console.

How do I change my crosshair in CS2?

Two routes, and neither needs a restart. In the menu, open Settings → Game → Crosshair, where every value has its own slider or toggle and changes apply live, even mid-round. In the console, the same values are cvars: cl_crosshairsize, cl_crosshairgap, cl_crosshairthickness, cl_crosshaircolor and so on. The console is faster once you know the names, and the full command list has all 21 with their ranges. You do not need a share code to change your crosshair; a code is just a way to set all 21 at once.

How do I copy crosshairs in CS2?

Three sources, one import step. From this site, hit Copy on any player card and the share code goes straight to your clipboard. From a teammate, ask them to open Settings → Game → Crosshair → Share or Import and send you the code it shows. From an opponent, spectate them after you die and read their code from the console. Once you have a code, paste it into Share or Import or run apply_crosshair_code with it. Drop it into the decoder first if you want to see the crosshair before it replaces yours.

Why do the codes start with CSGO and not CS2?

Valve kept the CS:GO share-code format when CS2 launched. Every CS2 crosshair code still begins with CSGO- and works in both games.

What crosshair does donk use?

donk runs a small static green crosshair: size 1, gap -4, thickness 1 with an outline. His code is CSGO-aNQn2-upV5w-M8dOd-OOwcf-2pFKO.

What are the best CS2 crosshairs in 2026?

The pro consensus has barely moved: style 4 (static), size 1 to 2, gap -3 to -4, thickness around 1, a thin outline and a bright colour like green or cyan. That covers most of the top CS2 crosshairs in use right now. Copy two or three from the list above, play a deathmatch with each, and keep the one you stopped noticing. The settings guide explains every value.

What crosshair do pro CS2 players use most?

A small static cross. Across the 350 pro CS2 crosshairs on this site, style 4 with a size of 1 to 2 and a gap of -3 or -4 is by far the most common setup, and green and cyan are the most common colours. Browse all pro codes to filter by team, colour or style.

Are these codes really what the pros use?

Every code on this site passes the share-code checksum, which fabricated codes fail, and the settings shown are decoded directly from the code rather than typed by hand. We source codes from tournament configs and official player pages and list a verified date on every page.

Where can I find CS2 crosshairs codes?

All of them are on this site, sorted three ways. All pro codes is the full list with filters for team, colour and style. The style hubs group the same codes by what they decode to: dot, small, green, cyan, no-outline, static and T-style. Compare puts two or three side by side on one surface. Every code passes its checksum before it is published, so anything you copy here will import.

How big is this CS2 crosshair database?

350 players across 62 teams right now. Each entry carries a verified date, and the settings are decoded from the code rather than typed in, so a page and its code can never disagree. What the database does not hold is sensitivity, DPI, resolution or gear, because none of that travels inside a share code. Browse it by player or by team.

How do I make a custom crosshair in CS2?

Start from a code rather than a blank slate: import a pro crosshair that is close to what you want, then change one thing at a time. Size and gap first, because together they decide how much of the target you cover. Thickness next, kept at 1 or below on a small crosshair. Then colour, then the outline. Leave the style on 4 (static) unless you specifically want the bars to move when you shoot. The generator does all of this with a live preview and hands you a new share code at the end.

What does the CS2 crosshair generator do?

It exposes all 21 crosshair settings with a preview drawn using the game's own pixel math, so what you see is what imports. You can build from scratch or paste a pro code in and edit it, check the result against nine different surfaces, and export the finished crosshair as a share code, as console commands, or as a PNG. It runs entirely in your browser, so nothing you build or paste is sent to a server. Open the generator.

Is a dot crosshair good in CS2?

A dot gives you the cleanest view of the target and forces you to trust your spray control, which is why rifle-heavy players like NiKo run one. It is harder to read recoil with, so it suits people who already know the patterns. The dot crosshair hub has the pro codes plus a ready-made preset.

How do I make a funny or weird CS2 crosshair?

Open the generator and push the settings past anything you would actually play with: size 50 or more, thickness cranked up, T-style on, outline off, a custom RGB colour. You get a real share code out of it that imports like any other, which is how most funny CS2 crosshairs get passed around. Nothing breaks and nothing is bannable.

Which crosshair colour is easiest to see on every map?

Cyan, because almost nothing in a CS2 map is cyan. Green is the engine default and the most popular pro colour, but it gets lost in Overpass and Ancient foliage, and yellow struggles against Dust2 sand and sky. Every preview here can be placed on nine map-like surfaces so you can check the contrast yourself instead of taking a guide’s word for it.

What is the best crosshair for CS2?

Most pros use a small static crosshair (style 4) with size 1 to 2, gap -3 to -4 and a bright colour like green or cyan. Start with a pro code you like, then adjust size and gap in our generator until it feels right.

Can I see what a code looks like before importing it?

Yes. Every code on this site has a preview rendered with the same pixel math the game uses. Paste any other code into the decoder to see it instantly.

How do I copy an opponent’s crosshair in a match?

While spectating a player after you die, open the console and type apply_crosshair_code with their code, or use the Share or Import dialog. Some players also share their code in the in-game chat when asked.

Do crosshair codes include sensitivity or resolution?

No. A share code carries only the 21 crosshair values (size, gap, thickness, colour, outline, style and so on). Sensitivity, DPI and resolution are separate settings.

CS2 crosshair codes explained: settings, styles and what the pros run

cs2crosshaircode.com is a database of CS2 crosshairs you can copy in one click. Every entry is a real share code, checked against its own checksum before it goes live, with the 21 settings behind it decoded and shown next to a preview. All 350 of the pro CS2 crosshair codes here come from 62 teams. There are also nine style hubs for when you want a dot or a specific colour, and a generator for building your own from scratch. Nothing here needs an account, a download, or a config file edit.

What a CS2 crosshair code actually contains

A CS2 crosshair code is a 25-character string that packs 21 crosshair settings into 18 bytes: style, size, gap, thickness, outline, colour, alpha, the centre dot, T-style and the dynamic-split values. The first byte is a checksum, which is how we reject the fake codes that circulate on aggregator sites. When you import a code the game applies every one of those values at once, so a pro code gives you their complete crosshair rather than an approximation of it. That is the difference between copying a code and copying a screenshot of a settings menu.

Codes still start with CSGO- because Valve kept the CS:GO share-code format when CS2 launched. The prefix is not a mistake and does not mean the code is stale: the same string works in both games. The length is fixed too, so anything shorter or longer than 25 characters after the prefix lost a piece somewhere in a copy-paste chain.

Previews rendered with the game’s own pixel math

Because the settings live inside the code, we never type them by hand. Every page decodes its code at build time and draws the preview with the same pixel math the engine uses: bar length and thickness scale with screen height, the gap is an offset from a base of four pixels, thickness rounds to whole pixels, and the outline is drawn per bar, not around the whole cross. We simulate a 1080p screen. When a pro changes their crosshair we update the code, and the preview, the settings table and the console commands all move together.

A crosshair that reads perfectly on a dark wall can vanish against sand or sky, which is the real reason colour matters more than size. Rather than guess, drop any preview onto nine surfaces taken from the palettes you actually play on: plaster, concrete, mossy stone, wood, stone wall, brick, sand, sky and dark. They are not map screenshots but a flat contrast test, which is the only part of a map that decides whether you can find your own crosshair.

Which CS2 crosshairs the pros actually use

Across 350 pro CS2 crosshairs the pattern is narrow. Most players run style 4, a static cross with no dynamic movement, at a size of 1 to 2 with a gap of -3 or -4 and a thin outline, and green and cyan account for most of the colours. Start with donk, ZywOo, s1mple, NiKo or m0NESY, or open the full list and filter by team, colour or style.

What you will not find on those pages is sensitivity, DPI, resolution or gear. None of it travels inside a share code, and we would rather list nothing than publish a number we cannot verify. Team assignments are accurate as of each player’s verified date, printed on their page, and can lag a roster move by a few days.

What makes a good CS2 crosshair

There is no single best CS2 crosshair, and anybody selling you one is guessing. What the good CS2 crosshairs have in common is narrower than the marketing suggests: small enough that it does not cover a head at the range you usually fight at, bright enough to find instantly after a flash, and static, so the bars are not moving while you are trying to read recoil. Everything past those three is preference: some players want a centre dot for pre-aiming a doorway, some cannot stand one.

A practical way to find the best CS2 crosshairs for you: copy three pro codes that look nothing like each other, play a deathmatch with each, and keep the one you stopped noticing. The crosshair you forget about is doing its job. If you want a starting point instead of a shortlist, the small green cross most tier-one riflers run is size 1, gap -4, thickness 1, outline 1, colour green, and the settings guide walks through every value and why it is set that way.

Dot, small, static and the rest

The style hubs group codes by what they decode to, not by what a blog claims. Dot CS2 crosshairs remove the bars and leave a single point, which is why it suits rifle players who already trust their spray control. Small covers everything at size 1.5 and below. Green and cyan group by colour, no-outline by the missing black border, static by style 4, and T-style by the missing top bar. Membership is derived from the decoded cvars, so a player shows up in every hub their code qualifies for and none that it does not. Browse all styles.

Funny, weird and deliberately terrible crosshairs

Not every crosshair is built to win a round. The generator exposes all 21 settings across their full legal range, which means it will happily build the funny CS2 crosshairs people screenshot: bars long enough to reach the edge of the screen, thickness cranked until the cross becomes a solid block, a magenta T-style with the outline switched off, alpha low enough that the whole thing is a ghost. There is no curated joke collection here, because you can make your own in about twenty seconds and get a real, importable share code out of it. The funniest CS2 crosshairs in circulation were all built that way, and so were the unique CS2 crosshairs people actually keep.

Weird CS2 crosshairs are also the fastest way to learn what the settings actually do. Build the worst CS2 crosshairs you can on purpose — giant, thick, dynamic, dark grey, no outline — and every reason the pro setups look the way they do becomes obvious within a minute. Then set the size back to 1 and the gap back to -4 and you will understand why almost nobody moves off it. Whether yours lands among the cool CS2 crosshairs or the crazy CS2 crosshairs is your call; whether it is readable is not, and the nine preview surfaces will tell you which you built.

The generator, decoder and compare tools

The CS2 crosshair generator gives you every setting with a live, in-game-accurate preview and exports a share code, the console commands, or a PNG. The decoder goes the other way: paste any code, including one a stranger sent you, and see the crosshair plus every value behind it before you import anything. Compare puts two or three codes side by side on the same surface, the only honest way to choose between crosshairs that look identical in a settings menu. All three run entirely in your browser, so codes you paste never reach a server.
